Pre-Production Pitch
Project Brief
You will be completing the following pre-production elements for a 3-5 minute short film to create a pitch:
Story Arc & Character Arc
12-Cell Storyboard
Full Script
Then you will be pitching your idea to your camera group.
You may use your formative elements or re-do them to create your summative work.
Story Arc & Character Arc
Copy the Character Arc Google Doc
Create a 6-part story arc.
Create a character arc aligned with your story arc.
Download as a PDF.
12-Cell StoryBoard
Use "Storyboard That" to create a 12-cell storyboard for your short film. You must include a cell for each of the 6 parts of your story arc, but then the other 6 are your choice on how you use them.

If you already have a storyboard started:
Click "Continue Assignment"
Adjust the layout to: Columns: 4 / Rows: 3
If you didn't already start the storyboard:
Click "Start Assignment"
Adjust the layout to: Columns: 4 / Rows: 3
Add scenes and characters
Click "Save & Exit"
Click "Download"
Click "PDF"
Full Script
Sign into Arc Studio: https://www.arcstudiopro.com/
Click the "+" next to "Scripts" or click "New Script"
Type out the information under "Additional Information"
Click "Create Script"
Scene Heading
Click the light gray icon on the second page to choose "Scene Heading"
Choose "INT." "EXT." or "I/E."
Type the location
Then choose the time of day.
Action
Type to describe the first shot and the action that is happening.
Character/Dialogue
Start a new line and choose "Character"
Type the character's name
Start a new line (choose "Dialogue" if it doesn't do it automatically) and type out what the character says
Repeat
Continue writing out the action and the character/dialogue for the each scene in your short film.
Export
Click the share icon (up arrow) in the top right.
Click "Export"
The PDF should open in a new tab.
Click the "..." then "Download this file"
Combine PDFs
Open Creative Cloud desktop app
Open "Acrobat"
Click "Combine Files"
Click "Add Files"
Locate and select 3 PDFs:
Story Arc & Character Arc
Storyboard
Script
Click "Combine"
Click "File" > "Save As..."
Save As: "Pre-Production Pictch"
Where: Creative Cloud Files
Click "Save"
Upload to Canvas
Upload your 1 combined PDF to Canvas
