SUMMATIVE: Sticker
Project Brief
Using Adobe Fresco, design/draw a single sticker or sticker sheet.Â
Make sure to use the following elements of art:
Multiple Shapes (2D) and/or Forms (3D)
3+ Colors/Values
3+ Textures (use different brushes)
Examples of how it will look printed:
Your sticker will be printed in black and white on clear sticker paper.
Create A Document
Tap "+ Create new"
Under the "Print" tab, tap "Letter"
Rename
Tap the "Untitled..." at the top of the screen
Tap the "Untitled..." again
Rename to "Last Name, Sticker"
Tap "Save"
Drawing Options
You may:Â
Free-hand draw (no reference/trace)
Trace photographs (images of real life, taken on a camera) - either yours or found online
Trace drawings/illustrations (must combine, cannot only trace one)
Or a combination of free-hand drawing, tracing photographs, and/or tracing drawings/illustrations
Trace a Photo (YES)
Find a photograph online, trace it, and be done. (You can also trace multiple!)
Trace Multiple Illustrations (YES)
Find multiple illustrations online, trace them, and combine.
Trace an Illustration (NO)
You may not only find one illustration online, trace it, and be done.
Optional: Add Reference Photo(s)
If you are using a reference to trace:
Once you find an image, save it your photos on your iPad
In Fresco, on the left toolbar, near the bottom, tap the photo icon
Tap "Photos" and find the photo
Adjust the size:
Only adjust the size using the cornersÂ
Do not drag the sides - this will smoosh your image disproportionatelyÂ
Tap "Done"
Use The Pixel and/or Live Brushes
Pixel Brushes
In the left toolbar, double-tap the first brush icon (Pixel brushes) to bring up the brush options and choose a brush.
Tap the icon again to bring up the brush settings
Color: tap the circle color swatch (this will be printed in black and white, so you may only want to use black, grays, and white)
Size: tap the number, adjust the slider
Flow (transparency): tap the color square, adjust the slider
Smoothing (how much the app smooths your lines for you): tap the squiggly line
Live Brushes
In the left toolbar, double-tap the second brush icon (Live brushes) to bring up the brush options and choose a brush
Tap the icon again to bring up the brush setttings
To adjust the color, size, and flow, follow the same steps as as the pixel brush (above)
Water flow (how much the spread/bleed together): tap the water droplets, adjust the slider
Elements Check
Double-check that your sticker design includes:
Multiple Shapes (2D) and/or Forms (3D)
3+ Values (different shades - black, grays, white)
3+ Textures
ADd Timelapse Video to Google Drive
Tap the share icon (the arrow and box) (top right corner)
Tap "Preview timelapse"
Tap "Export"
Tap "Google Drive"
Add Video to Google Drive
Go into the "Folder" area and tap "My Drive"
Tap your "Graphic Design Folder" then "1 - Elements"
Tap "Save here" in the bottom right
Tap "UPLOAD" in the top right
PUBLISH & Export AS A JPG
Tap the share icon at the top
Tap "Publish & Export"
Tap "Export as"
Choose "JPG" and "High"
Tap "Export" then "Drive"
Go into the "Folder" area and tap "My Drive"
Tap your "Graphic Design Folder" > "1 - Elements"
Tap "Save here" in the bottom right
Tap "UPLOAD" in the top right
reflection Questions
Create a Google Doc in your Portfolio
Open Google Drive on your iPad
Navigate to your "Graphic Design" folder then "1 - Elements"
Click the "+" in the bottom right and click Google Docs.
Respond to The Reflection Questions
Copy and paste these questions into your Google Doc and answer them.
Did you use any references (photographs or illustrations that you traced)? Describe what was traced and what was free-hand drawn.
Did you draw shapes (2D) or forms (3D)? Describe what shapes/forms.
What different colors did you use (at least 3)? What are their values (light to dark)?
Describe your 3 different textures.
Submit Portfolio Link to Canvas
Copy Link
Go to the "Google Drive" app
Go to "Files"
Find your "Graphic Design" folder and click the "..." to the right then "Copy link"
Submit to Canvas
Go to the Canvas app and find the assignment
Click "Submit Assignment"
Tap the text entry area twice and tap "Paste"
Click "Submit"
