Control Room

• Producer: creates/organizes content, very involved in decision making

• Director: creative aspects, transforms the script into video/audio

• Technical Director: operates the production switcher

• Audio Technician: responsible for the audio/sound quality, operates audio mixer, maintain audio levels

• Camera Operator: robo-operates the cameras, focuses on framing the shots

Studio Room

• Floor Director: the director’s “eyes and ears” in the studio, wears a headset to hear the director

• Teleprompter: responsible for loading the script into the teleprompter and making sure it is visible for anchors

• Talent: on-camera, anchor delivers news from the news desk, reporter delivers news from the field

In the Field

Set-Up

• Location Manager: choose the location to film

• Lighting Director: Set up the light

• Director of Photography: make sure all camera settings are correct and set white balance

• Exposure Technician: test exposure and adjust ISO

• Sound Engineer: set the camera sound settings

Live

• Reporter: electronic news gathering (ENG), gather information, research, write stories, on-camera in the field

• Camera Operator: operate the camera

• Teleprompter: hold the teleprompter
