#5: Auto vs. Manual Focus

1. Choose one of the options below to learn about the difference between auto focus and manual focus.

2. On your graphic organizer for #6, explain the differences.

#6: Auto vs. Manual Focus Comparison (Canon T3i: 85mm Lenses)

Tasks

Both of these lenses are prime (fixed) lenses so they don't zoom and are always at 85mm.

Auto Focus:

1. Find the lens that has an AF/MF switch - it should be on AF.

2. For this one, the camera will autofocus as you turn the camera toward different things.

3. On your graphic organizer for #6, write down 1-2 things you notice about it

Manual Focus:

1. The lens without a AF/MF switch only has manual focus (no auto focus option)

2. Locate the ring on the lens that changes what is in focus.

3. On your graphic organizer for #6, write down 1-2 things you notice about it

#7: Sensor Size

1. Choose one of the options below to learn about how sensor size impacts the image you can produce.

2. On your graphic organizer for #8, explain how sensor size impacts your image.
