Open Adobe Fresco.
Start a new document: tap "+ Create new"
Tap the "Print" tab
Tap "Tabloid"
The pixel brushes are raster brushes.
In the toolbar on the left, double-tap the first brush tool "Pixel Brushes" to choose a brush.
Tap the icon again to adjust the settings of the brush and increase the size to around 40.
Write "Pixel = Raster"
The live brushes are also raster brushes.
In the toolbar on the left double-tap the second brush tool "Live Brushes" to choose a brush.
Tap the icon again to adjust the settings of the brush and increase the size to around 40.
Write "Live = Raster"
Because raster brushes use pixels, colors can be blended and smudged.
Tap the circle swatch and change the color.
Write "Raster = smudge + blend"
Adjust the color again.
Write on top of the same letters again.
Notice how when the colors overlap they blend into a new color.
In the toolbar on the left, double-tap the tool that looks like a finger "Smudge Brushes" and choose a brush.
Drag across your double-color text to smudge the colors/letters
Pinch out to zoom in until you can see the individual pixels.
Remember raster brushes are made of pixels, which allow you to smudge/blend, but they become pixelized when you zoom in or increase the size.
Vectors are made up of paths created with math equations (not pixels) so they can be scaled infinitely. However, they cannot be blended/smudged.
In the toolbar on the left, double-tap the third brush tool "Vector Brushes" and choose a brush
Tap the icon again to open the brush settings and tap the circle swatch.
Change the color and adjust the size to around 40.
Write "Vector = infinitely scalable"
Choose another color and write over your original letters.
Try to use the smudge brush on your vector writing. Notice that it will say "Can't smudge on vector layer"
Raster and vector brushes cannot combine.
Notice how both the pixel brushes and live brushes were automatically kept on the same layer. This is because they are both raster brushes.
The icon for a pixel layer is the little squares in the circle.
Notice how the vector brushes automatically made a new layer.
The icon for the vector layer is a circle in the circle.
Zoom in as far as you can on your vector brush strokes.
Notice how the vector brush strokes don't get pixilated no matter how far you zoom in or how big you make them.
They are not pixilated because they are vectors, which are math equations, not pixels.
