Remove Background (Adobe Express)

iPad Instructions:

Open Adobe Express & Sign In

  1. On your iPad, go to the Adobe Express app

  2. At the very bottom, click "Log in"

  3. Sign in with your school email and password

Start a New Project & Add Image

  1. Tap the purple "+" icon at the bottom of the screen

  2. Tap "Remove background"

  3. Tap "Add image"

  4. Find an image from your camera roll.

Save & Exit

  1. If you like what it looks like, tap "Save"

  2. Once it says "Your image has been saved to your camera roll" you can close Adobe Expres.

Or Refine the Cutout First

If the program didn't cut out all of the background or cut out part of the subject, you can refine the cutout.

  1. Once the image loads, tap "Customize"

  2. Tap on the image and then tap "REMOVE BACKGROUND"

  3. Tap "EDIT CUTOUT"

  4. Use the "Erase" or "Restore" options to refine the cutout.

  5. Tap on the text and tap "DELETE"

  6. Tap on your image, and drag the corners so the image is as big as possible.

  7. Tap the download icon in the top right

  8. Tap the "Transparent images" then "DOWNLOAD"

iMac Instructions:

Go to Adobe Express and Sign in

  1. Go to: https://www.adobe.com/express/

  2. Click "Get Adobe Express free"

  3. Click "Log in with school account"

  4. Sign in with your school email and password

Upload Image & Download

  1. Under "Try a quick action" click "Remove background"

  2. Locate your image in "Finder" and drag it to the "Drag & drop an image" area.

  3. If it looks like what you want, click "Download"

Customize Cutout & Download

If the program didn't cut out all of the background or cut out part of the subject, you can refine the cutout.

  1. Click "Customize"

  2. Click "Edit cutout"

  3. Use the "Erase" or "Restore" brushes to refine the cutout.

  4. Click the check mark in the top right to finish editing.

  5. Click "Download" select "PNG (transparent background)" and then click "Start download"
