Project Brief
Using Adobe Fresco's pixel or live brushes, trace a reference photo to be as photorealistic as you can.
Choose/Find & Save to Photos
On your iPad:
Find an image of an object online, or save one of the images below.
Click and hold on the image then click "Save to Photos"
Create Canvas in Fresco
Open Adobe Fresco
If you need to login, "Continue with Google"
Start a new document: tap "+ Create new"
Tap "Letter"
Add Template Photo
Click the photo icon then click "Photos"
Find the template photo in your Photos Library and select.
Once it opens in Fresco, make it as large as possible without stretching it (only drag the corners)
Click "Done" in the top right corner.
Choose a Brush
Choose a pixel or live brush. I recommend the following brushes when creating photorealistic art:
Pixel: Marker > Marker brush
Pixel: Mixer > Brushy mixer
Pixel: Mixer > Detailer mixer
Zoom In
Zoom into a part of the photograph so you can see different colors and details.
To zoom in, use two fingers and drag apart
Pull Colors & Paint
Pull a color by using either:
Use Logitech Crayon: Tap the eyedropper tool, then tap a color on your image. This will place this color into your color swatch for you to paint with
Use Finger: Long press on a place on your template photo to copy the color. This will bring up a magnified area to show the specific color. Then let go. This will place this color into your color swatch for you to paint with
Start to trace over that part of the image with your brush.
Hide Template Image
In the layers area, select your reference image
Tap the eye icon to hide the image.
This allows you to see just your painting so far.
Tap the eye icon again to unhide the image.
Continue painting
Continue pulling colors and painting with your brush to trace the image.
Try to create an image that looks as close to the photo as possible.
Hide Template Image
Once time is up or you finish:
In the layers area, select your reference image
Tap the eye icon to hide the image.
Preview The Timelapse Video
Adobe Fresco creates timelapse videos of your work.
Click the share icon (the arrow and box) (top right corner)
Click "Preview timelapse"
Click "Export"
Click "Save Video"
Save Image
Click the share icon (the arrow and box) (top right corner)
Click "Quick export"
Click "Save Image"
Upload Image and Video to Canvas
Go to the Canvas app and find the assignment.
Upload your photo and timelapse video and submit.
