Live Paint Practice
Copy & Open Illustrator Template
Copy the Live Paint Practice template
If you aren't already signed in to Adobe, click "Sign in" in the top right corner and "Continue with Google"
Click "Copy to Files"
Open the Creative Cloud desktop app from your dock.
Right-click on the template and click "Open"
Adjust Toolbar
Change the toolbar from "Basic" to "Advanced"
Go to "Window" > "Toolbars" > "Advanced"
Activate Live Paint
Select all the lines (click and drag to envelope, let go)
Go to "Object" > "Live Paint" > "Make"
De-select your lines.
On your keyboard click "I" to select the "Eyedropper Tool" then click inside one of the triangles, which will copy the color from the reference photo.
Click the Live Paint Bucket tool (if you don't see it, right click on the "Shape Builder Tool") or on your keyboard click the "K" key to select the "Live Paint Bucket Tool" and click inside the same triangle to color the triangle.
Repeat for each triangle.
Hide Template Photo
In your "Layers" panel, hide "Layer 1" (template photo)
Create a Background Layer
In your "Layers" panel, create a new layer and name it Background
Make sure it is between Layer 1 and Layer 2
Use the rectangle tool to create a background and adjust the color to your liking.
Save as a PDF File
Go to "File" > "Save As..."Â
Click "Save on your computer"
Make sure it is going to save in "Creative Cloud Files"
Change the Format to "Adobe PDF (pdf)"
Click "Save"
Turn in PDF to Canvas
Turn in your .pdf file on Canvas.
