Use your editing skills to edit your team's news broadcast video from the first summative.
Get one of the SD cards labeled "Media #" from the SD card area (share with a partner, there are only 7)
Copy the "SUMMATIVE: News Edit" folder
Paste into your "My Drive" > "Media" > "3 - Premiere Pro" folder.
Download a song that you'd like for your news.
Move your downloaded music to "My Drive" > "Media" > "3 - Premiere Pro" > "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
Open Creative Cloud (rainbow icon) in your dock and click "Open" next to Premiere Pro
Click "New Project"
Adjust the "Project name" to: "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
Change the "Project location":
Click "Choose Location..."
Navigate to "My Drive" > "Media" > "3 - Premiere Pro" > "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
Click "Choose"
Click "Home" on the left menu
Double-click the "My Drive" > "Media" > "2 - Premiere Pro"
Select (check) the "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
Click "Create"
Leave your A-Roll video on V1 and audio on A1
Move your B-Roll to V2 and it's audio to A2
Move your music to A3
Adjust the workspace: Window > Workspaces > Effects
Select your first A-Roll.
In the Essential Sound tab, make sure the tag is "Dialogue"
Then go to Loudness and click "Auto-Match"
Repeat for the second A-Roll video.
Then Select your music and make sure the tag is "Music"
Go to Loudness and click "Auto-Match"
Watch the A-Roll and move the related B-Roll to the spots when they are talked about.
Select your first b-roll and move your blue playhead on top of it.
Go to the "Effect Controls" tab and click the arrow next to "Motion"
Adjust the Position and Scale until the B-Roll is in the top corner opposite of the anchor's face.
Repeat for all B-Roll images/videos
If there is anything you'd like to cut out, you can by using any of the trim/cut tools.
Use the Selection Tool to trim the end of the A-Roll when it ends.
Trim the music to end at the end of the videos.
Select your music.
Go to the "Essential Sound" tab.
Scroll down to "Ducking" and turn it on with the slider button.
Scroll down and select "Generate Keyframes"
On your audio you should now see keyframes which adjust the music level up and down based on when the anchors are talking.
Go to the "Graphics Templates" tab.
Drag the "Gaming Intro" to the start of your timeline on V2.
Trim the Graphic so it ends before the anchors start talking.
In the "Properties" tab change the Title and Subtitle to your choice of News station name.
Go to Window > Workspaces > Captions and Graphics
Go to the "Captions" tab on the left.
Select "Create captions from transcript"
Select "No, don't separate speakers"
Click "Transcribe & create captions"
Watch the show with the captions and fix spelling, capitalization, and grammar errors.
The original script is located on the right that you can reference.
Now that you have trimmed:
On your keyboard, click "command" + "shift" + "5" to open the screenshot program.
Adjust the rectangle so that it is only showing the timeline area (the bottom right panel)
Click "Capture"
In the top menu, click "File" > "Save"
In the top tabs, click "Export"
Rename the "File Name" to "Premiere Pro for Media"
Double-click on the blue hyperlink next to "Location" In the pop-up:
In the "Where" area, select "My Drive" >"Media" > "3- Premiere Pro" > "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
Click "Save"
Click "Export" in the bottom right corner.
Move your screenshot from "Desktop" to "My Drive" >"Media" > "3- Premiere Pro" > "SUMMATIVE: News Edit"
In Finder:
Right-click on "Media" and click "Copy link to clipboard"
Paste the link in Canvas.
