What elements of art are repeated?
The shape of the text/letters is repeated. They are blocky and imperfect.
The color of the text/letters is repeated on each jar. For example, the Rich Hazelnut jar uses green for the text and green on the top sticker band.
The lines on either side of the "Flavour Infused Instant Coffe" are repeated. They are thin and vertical.
What elements of art differ? Is it high or low contrast?
The color of the cereal (brown) contrasts with the color of the milk (white) and other objects (light blue). It is high contrast.
The shape of the milk dripping down the top contrast with the other geometric shapes on the design. It is high contrast.
The blue colors are slightly different creating low contrast.
What is the focal point and why? What do you look at next and why?
The focal point of this design the illustration. It stands out because it is the largest thing on the design.
For hierarchy, next is "Mint" then the smaller and smaller text.
How are different elements aligned?Â
The text ("Honey Loops") is center-aligned on the box.
The honeycomb shapes are horizontally and vertically aligned together.
The "H" and the "L" are left aligned perfectly.
What is placed on the rule of thirds intersection(s)? Why?
This design has placed their title on the top-right rule of thirds intersection. Additionally, the lemon is placed on both the top-left and bottom-left rule of thirds intersections. These two items are both the most important parts of the design to look at first.
Is there approx. formal/symmetrical balance or informal/asymmetrical balance? How?
These designs use informal/asymmetrical balance. The logo is left aligned on most of the products while the company name and product descriptions are right-aligned, providing balance.
This design uses approx. formal/symmetrical balance because when split in half vertically, each side is approximately the same. This is achieved by centering all the text and graphics.
