Choose 3-5 Stories

1. Choose 3-5 stories. You should choose at least 1 hard and 1 soft news story.

2. Group stories by type or theme if it helps with flow (e.g., all local, all school-related, or mix for variety).

Write the Story Segments

For each story, write::

1. Lead sentence (what’s the news?)

2. Details (1–2 sentences max)

3. Quote or soundbite (optional, short)

4. Wrap-up or transition to next story

Example: “The school cafeteria will debut new plant-based options next week. Staff say it’s part of a push for healthier meals. Student Taylor Green says, ‘It’s about time we had more variety!’ The full menu will be posted Friday.”
