Go to the News Stories folder.
Review each story and think through:
Is it hard news (urgent, factual) or soft news (emotional, human interest)?
What’s the headline?
Who’s involved?
Why does it matter?
Choose 3-5 stories. You should choose at least 1 hard and 1 soft news story.
Group stories by type or theme if it helps with flow (e.g., all local, all school-related, or mix for variety).
For each story, write::
Lead sentence (what’s the news?)
Details (1–2 sentences max)
Quote or soundbite (optional, short)
Wrap-up or transition to next story
Example: “The school cafeteria will debut new plant-based options next week. Staff say it’s part of a push for healthier meals. Student Taylor Green says, ‘It’s about time we had more variety!’ The full menu will be posted Friday.”
