Keyframes
A keyframe marks the point in time where you specify something such as position, opacity, or volume. It is a diamond shape.
To create a change over time, you set at least 2 keyframes—one keyframe for the value at the start, and another keyframe for the value at the end.
Use keyframes to change opacity over time
We are going to make our text fade onto the screen:
Move your blue playhead to 0:00 (the start)
Select the pink rectangle in the timeline.
In your top-left panel click "Effect Controls"
Look for the row titled "Opacity" and click the arrow to the left to open it.
Make the starting keyframe:
Click the little timer icon next to the second "Opacity" - it should turn blue
This makes your first keyframe - notice for that keyframe the percentage is 100%
Change the percentage to 0% (this is our starting keyframe)
Make the ending keyframe:
Move your blue playhead out to 2:00 seconds
Change the percentage to 100% - this will make a new keyframe (this is our ending keyframe)
Watch your video now to see the text fade in.
Use Keyframes To Change Position Over time
We are going to make our text now move off the screen:
Move your blue playhead to 3:00 seconds.
In your top-left panel click "Effects Controls"
Make the starting keyframe:
Click the little timer icon next to "Position" (this creates a starting keyframe at the current position)
Make the ending keyframe:
Move the blue playhead near the end of the text (pink rectangle)
Hover over one of the 2 numbers next to position. This will change your mouse/pointer to a finger with arrows. Click and drag one of the numbers to move the text until it is off the screen.
The first number adjusts the position left/right: lower number = left / higher number = right
The second number adjusts the position up/down: higher number = down / lower number = up
Watch your video now to see the text move off the screen.
Create a New Text Layer
Move your playhead to 6:00 seconds
Make sure nothing is selected (click the dark gray area to deselect) then on your keyboard

We are going to make our text zoom onto the screen:
Make sure your blue playhead is still at 6:00 seconds (the start of your second text box)
In your top-left panel click "Effects Controls"
Make the starting keyframe:
Click the little timer icon next to "Scale"
Change the # from 100 to 0
Make the ending keyframe:
Move your blue playhead to 8:00 seconds.
Change the # from 0 to 100.

Use Keyframes To change volume over time

Notice it is set to 0.0 dB. This is the max for a video.
Make the starting keyframe:
Click the keyframe icon (hexagon) to add a keyframe at the start.
Make the ending keyframe:
Move your blue playhead to the end of the audio/video.
Hover over the "0.0 dB". This will change your mouse/pointer to a finger with arrows. Click and drag to the left until it reaches negative infinity or -281.1 dB.
